Women players of all abilities are welcome to participate in our Midweek Ladies tennis.
Each week while primary schools are in session, social doubles play is organized from 9.00am until about 11.00am. Participants get the chance to play 20 minute rounds of doubles with different partners and opponents. We strive for combinations of players that will make for fun and balanced play. Stay afterwards for a chat and some refreshments. A creche service is offered at $8 for one child and $10 for two so that mothers can participate; we are one of the only clubs in the area to provide this.
During term one and term four, our club coach, Campbell Cramer-Roberts, joins us for the first hour on Thursdays, observing and sharing his expertise. Year-round, Campbell offers group coaching for women on Friday mornings from 10:00am to 11:30am for $10-$15/person, depending on the number attending. This is done on a casual basis so people can come whenever they like.
Competitive play is available for those wishing to compete on Monday or Tuesday mornings in summer and winter. Teams are composed of four to six members - we typically have about eight such teams. Teams are selected based on a combination of past performance, current grading, club championship results and the observations of the club selection committee. You may register your interest by entering your name on the forms posted on the notice board at the start of the season. You can register as a reserve if your on going availability is uncertain.
Finally, Midweek Ladies Club championships in doubles and singles for the various grades are held in March/April. There is also a handicap doubles event in November.
